Varietal blend: 100% Sangiovese
Total acidity: 5,50 g/l
pH: 3,50
Residual sugar: 0,8 g/l
Dry Extract: 31 g/l

This Sangiovese "in purezza" (pure) Genius Loci is produced with selected grapes grown on a single vineyard belonging to the Burchino Estate, called Le Corti. Le Corti Cru is characterized by its particular exposition and the rich soil. The vines are cultivated with the cordon spur training system in order to obtain from 1 to 2 kg of grapes per vine.

The grapes are selected and harvested by hand. After the primary fermentation in stainless steel the malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak barriques where later on the wine is refined for a minimum period of 12 months

"This bright ruby red wine has an elegant impact on the nose with hints of lemon on a raspberry background. Warm and passionate with slight tannins this product lingers on the palate and is ready to drink now but will age well on its graceful balance." by Cippi Pitschen

CULINARY SUGGESTIONS by Chiara Sajiz

Varietal blend:
  • 85% Sangiovese
  • 10% Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 5% Shiraz

pH: 3,48
Residual sugar: 0,23 g/l

The heart of the Chianti region, green rolling hills, seemingly endless spreading of vineyards and olive groves, of oak and holm-oak woods, ancient villages where the history of centuries has given strength to the finest traditions: from this sanctuary of harmony and peace we are glad to introduce you the most precious fruit of our toil: the red wines of Campomaggio.

This wine comes from a selection of the best sangiovese vines blended with a small portion of cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from the campomaggio vineyard. After fermentation the wine is aged for 12 months in barrique, and in bottles for a further 6 months. The campomaggio red has a lively ruby red color with light garnet hues, elegant, a full bouquet with a pleasant hickory scent. The taste is dry, full-bodied with a slight initial tannin flavor which develops into a spicy taste. It is an ideal wine to accompany grilled meats, games and cheeses.

"This elegant, full-bodied blend of 85% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Shiraz offers sweet notes of strawberry and berry fruit, with flavors of leather, spice and vanilla. Supple texture and admirable finish. A great "Supertuscan." Cippi Pitschen

Ideal with roast, game and spice types of cheese.

Grapes: 90% Sangiovese, 10% Ciliegiolo

Vinification and Refinement: This Chianti Superiore is the result of a careful selection in Burchino vineyard, inside Colline Pisane production area, of the best Sangiovese grapes together with a small portion of an autochthon grape, Ciliegiolo. Hand picked grapes are immediately fermented in the modern cellars of Burchino. A prolonged maceration with the skins gives to the wines complex aromas and a fruity scent. The ageing takes place for over a year in traditional Slavonian oak casks. The wine is refined in bottle for a further period.

Description: Intense ruby red colour. Characteristic bouquet with plenty of cherry, leather and cedars flavours. The round mouthful with notes of liquorice and tar is wrapped around ripe almost candied fruit.

Food Matches: Ideal with steaks and grilled meats, perfect with mature cheeses. Serve at room temperature.
