 MATURED: Ballechin is the heavily Peated Malt distilled at Edradour since 2003, using malt peated to at least 50ppm. This 4th release in the Discovery Series, has been matured solely in first fill Oloroso Sherry butts. Limited to 6,000 bottles worldwide.
The heavy phenols are tempered by the richness of fruit and chocolate coming through from the Oloroso casks.
MATURED: Edradour's latest product - a collaborative bottling with Scottish singer songwriter Dougie MacLean. Dougie was personally involved with the whisky cask selection. The whisky had been finished in Oloroso sherry casks for 42 months.
Rich on the nose, complex on the palate. Rich fruits and chocolate abound.
Status: Limited Edition MATURED: 19.5 years maturation in plain oak hogshead, followed by finishing in a fresh Port Pipe for a further 66 months.

Soft at first, spices in evidence followed by a subtle sweetness.
